Asana
Have you ever wondered why "asana" is at the end of every yoga pose? Well, in our Bodhi Yoga certification this weekend, we learned that the word "asana" means "pose". Makes more sense then, right? Uttanasana, Sidhasana, Sukanasana, Balasana, Bhujangasana and Savasana are just some examples. What is even more amazing is the way one yogi master explained what the word asana meant; "A steady and joyful state of being."
Do you feel like you are steady and joyful while practicing Yoga? Syl Carson (owner of Bodhi Yoga) taught us that if you don't feel that way, then you're doing it wrong. So next time you're doing your asana's, ask yourself, "Am I in a steady and joyful state of being?"
